Each piece is created for the individual customer.
The Process starts with the most basic materials, clay and metal. A water color rendering is created that depicts the customers wishes. From here the process gets large. A full scale drawing is made and copied. Large slabs of clay are rolled out to the appropriate thickness and cut into pieces to fit the pattern.
Some patterns have as many as 500 individual pieces. The tiles are dried and bisque fired. Most pieces are finished in Majolica glazes. Majolica is a technique dating back hundreds of years where a white glaze is applied and colored glazes are painted over the white base glaze and then fired. Majolica glazes allow for vivid colors and tiny details to be established. Tile tables are laid on marine grade wood with mastic. Table tops are grouted and placed on customized metal bases.
We sell directly to the public, or please inquiry about my wholesale program.
